A hidden gem in the hills
The hosts, John and his partner. Highlights included the very nice breakfast with delicious Cumberland sausages and the amazing cleanliness of the entire place. The Superior King Room had fine views, made each morning nice. We also appreciated the local activity recommendations, which enriched our adventures in this picturesque area.
One minor downside was that the B&B is somewhat secluded, meaning a car is essential for accessing nearby restaurants and attractions. A full-length mirror in the room would have been helpful for getting ready for the evening. But these are small quibbles in an overall fantastic experience.

The breakfast was gorgeous with many options to choose from, the staff was brilliant. The location was amazing for exploring this truly beautiful area, short walk to the pub in the summer, numerous great hikes of different abilities and Whinlatter from the house...

huge superior king room, fine en suite, fantastic barn conversion
The location could be more accessible. A better signpost would help arriving guests find the place easily!!! The lack of a full-length mirror in a spacious room was like an oversight. These tweaks could elevate the experience further!!!

I almost thought this place deserved a decent review, but alas! The lack of a full-length mirror was a disservice to my styling efforts. Their secluded location made finding decent dining quite stressful. As an entitled guest, i expected a welcome gift, but apparently, they just don't cater to excellence here. Disappointing, really.
